Artist. Teacher. Visionary.
Originally from Chin State in Myanmar, John Khai moved to the Thai border town of Mae Sot in 2007. A year later, John Khai started working with Saw Cu Cil, a local artist who first inspired John Khai to begin painting. Since then, he has been largely self-taught, with an initial focus on realistic watercolour sketches. Now, John Khai prefers the medium of acrylic on canvas, drawing inspiration from the peace and beauty he finds in the natural landscapes of the Thai / Myanmar border.
